Sermon Summary: Today is the second Sunday of Advent. Advent means “coming”. During the Advent season, we celebrate the coming of Jesus into the world nearly 2,000 years ago. In Luke 1:26-38, the angel, Gabriel, was sent to Mary and announced to her that she would give birth to Jesus who will be great and called the Son of the Most High. His birth and coming into the world changed history forever. There are three truths…

  1. The birth of Jesus was far from ordinary.
  2. Jesus desires to use the lives of ordinary people to advance the kingdom of God on earth.
  3. Jesus is totally unique and worthy of our devotion and worship.
