Summary

Sermon Summary: Today, we will look closer at our January “Equipping Verse”: Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and send them off  (Acts 13:3). The first tree verses of Acts 13 describe how the church in Antioch was instructed by the Holy Spirit to send out Barnabas and Saul (Paul) “for the work to which I have called them” (verse 2). This would be Paul’s “first missionary journey”. The Antioch church was a missionary sending church. What does such a church look like? There are three characteristics of a missionary sending church…

  1. A missionary sending church embraces diversity.
  2. A missionary sending church embraces prayer, fasting, and worship.
  3. A missionary sending church embraces the work of the Holy Spirit.
