Sermon Summary: This morning we will take a close look at the August 2017 “Equipping Verse”. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” When two iron blades are rubbed together, the edges become sharper and thus, the blades will be more effective in cutting. In the same way, the interaction of two Christians will bring about mutual encouragement. There are three applications we can take from this verse…

  1. We are not to follow Jesus alone.
  2. We all need good people in our lives to stretch and challenge us.
  3. We should all be growing and maturing in Jesus so we can encourage one another.
